Lens Treatments

Selecting the right frame to fit your personality and lifestyle is important, but deciding what type of lenses to put inside those frames may be even more important! DePoe Eye Center prides itself on offering the latest digital lens technology and lens treatments to deliver your best vision every time!

High Index Lenses

Our most popular lens material! High Index lenses are thinner and lighter than regular plastic lenses, making the entire profile of your lenses more cosmetically appealing. They can also reduce the magnification, or bug-eye effect some heavier prescriptions can produce. They also absorb 100% of UVA/UVB rays, and due to their impact resistant nature are often used in drilled rimless frame designs. If you would you like for your lenses to be as thin and light as possible, high index is the only choice for you!

These lenses are 25% thinner than regular plastic lenses. It is impact resistant and shatter resistant, and it also absorbs 100% of UVA/UVB rays. We use polycarbonate lenses for moderately heavy prescriptions, children’s eyewear and safety glasses.

Photochromic Lenses

These lenses are virtually clear indoors and darken as they are exposed to ultra violet rays. Photochromic lenses are available in nearly every lens material for every prescription. Widely known by the brand name Transitions.

Polarized Lenses

Light that is reflected from water and other flat surface such as roads and car hoods is primarily horizontally polarized which can create blinding glare when it enters your eye. Lenses that are polarized contain a special filter that eliminates this blinding glare. Long known to be useful for people who love fish and those who play sports, polarized lenses can also make your everyday commute to work more comfortable. No more shielding your eyes from that early morning or afternoon sun while driving!

Anti-Reflective Treatments

Our most popular add-on for lenses! There is no one who wears glasses who cannot benefit from this amazing lens treatment! This treatment works by minimizing the amount of light that reflects off of the front and back surface of your lenses, thus reducing glare which causes eye fatigue. Due to its nature of reducing reflection, it makes your lenses look invisible so instead of others seeing the overhead lights in your lenses, they can clearly see your eyes! Our brand of anti- glare treatment is so advanced; it also protects your lenses against scratches, smudges, dust and water!

Other lens coatings include anti-fog, and mirror coatings for sunglasses.
