Our Technology

Optos® Retinal Imaging

DePoe Eye Center offers the Optomap® as an important part of our eye exams. The Optomap produces an image that is unique and provides our doctors with a high-resolution 200° image in order to ascertain the health of your retina. These images aid our doctors to discover, diagnose, document and treat ocular conditions.

Diopsys® NOVA Vision Testing System

The Diopsys® NOVA™-VEP office-based Visual Evoked Potential (VEP) system objectively measures the functional responses of the entire visual pathway from the anterior segment of the eye to the visual cortex using a quick and easy test. VEP test results can help improve sensitivity and specificity in diagnosing glaucoma, DME, AMD, DR, Optic Neuritis and other retinal disease when used in conjunction with other diagnostic tests.

Diopsys ERG (electroretinography) vision tests provide you with objective, functional information on the performance of retinal ganglion cells. These test results help you identify “stressed” cells at a subclinical stage, when the cells have become dysfunctional but are still alive.

Optical Coherence Tomography

An Optical Coherence Tomography scan (commonly referred to as an OCT scan) is the latest development in imaging technology. It works similar to ultrasound; this analytic tool employs light rather than sound waves to achieve higher resolution pictures of the structural layers of the back of the eye.

Visual Field Testing

A Visual field test measures the full vertical and horizontal range of what you can see peripherally, or your “side” vision. Using the Zeiss Humphrey, this test can evaluate the central and peripheral vision of each eye individually and determine if there are any blind spots (scotomas) in your vision.
